Swami Dayanand Saraswati was a revolutionary saint, a great vedic scholar, philosopher and visionary social reformer who sacrificed his life for the sake nation. He founded Arya Samaj for restoration of Vedic Culture and eradication of social evils. After his sad demise in 1883 his followers decided to open a DAV school in his pious memory. This school was opened in 1886 which became a movement in a short span of time. The founder of DAV movement and Arya Samajists were of the opinion that education should be spread to all and message of Vedas should be spread to all over the country through education. They felt the need of an organization which will be useful to propagate the vedic philosophy of Swami Dayanand Saraswati and organize the Arya Samajists under one banner.
